I wrote a series in 2022 titled ‘Artificial Intelligence in the Bible.’ It was a seven-part series, but you can read all of the parts in this eBook. The series was and still is a warning to Christians about the part Artificial Intelligence will play in the ‘end times.’ We now have the next step in what Jesus and His apostles predicted.

Texting Jesus

“Text With Jesus, an artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot that lets users message biblical figures, has grown quickly since its launch, and its creator says most users are embracing it despite skepticism and calls of blasphemy … On the app, users can text with “Jesus,” “Moses” or other figures and receive AI-generated responses that quote scripture directly.” Fox Business

When Jesus answered His disciples’ questions about the ‘end times,’ and when those disciples later wrote about it in their letters, there was no specific mention of the part Artificial Intelligence would play. Even though Jesus knew the end from the beginning and could have mentioned it by name, He didn’t because His audience would not have understood the computer technologically involved. However, we read in Matthew chapters 24 and 25, several of the apostolic letters, and the Book of Revelation enough information about the future to fit well with what we’re watching unfold before our eyes.

AI Blasphemy?

People have been trying to defeat Christianity since the early part of the 1st century AD. Saul of Tarsus (Paul) tried, but became a Christian when he had a direct encounter with Jesus Christ. Paul the Apostle took the Gospel of Christ to the Gentile nations and saw multitudes of pagans embrace Christ as their Lord and Savior. That led many enemies of God to attempt to destroy what Jesus was building – His Church.

“For I know this, that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock. Also from among yourselves men will rise up, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after themselves. Therefore watch, and remember that for three years I did not cease to warn everyone night and day with tears.” Acts 20:29-31

“But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.” 2 Timothy 3:13

We know that the devil is the great deceiver and our constant enemy. Giving people the opportunity to ‘text with Jesus’ seems like yet one more way the enemy will deceive the masses of people who use it. It is another of his many tools of deception. The history of Christianity is replete with attempts to manipulate the words of Jesus. From the early heretical writings to the idea that a person can ‘text with Jesus,’ the enemy continually attacks the words that ‘bring life’ to people who were spiritually ‘dead.’

The Words of Jesus Christ cannot be manipulated by a computer program, even if early versions are direct quotes from Scripture. AI has the ability to ‘change’ language for purposes that are sometimes difficult to understand. The potential for AI to misquote the Bible is a real threat to the integrity of the Word of God.

No human can make Jesus say anything other than what has already been recorded for us in the Bible. AI has the ability to appear as if you are actually having a conversation with a real person, even as it pushes that conversation toward a different message.

If you want to have a conversation with Jesus Christ, pray to Him and listen to what He says as you read the Word of God. Don’t look to ‘Artificial Intelligence’ for answers to your questions, problems, or needs. Look to Jesus, “the author and finisher of our faith.” God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are the only Intelligence Christians should look to for guidance in their lives.

If you haven’t read the series, Artificial Intelligence in the Bible, I hope that you will. It’s a warning of what’s happening and what’s coming.
