Teaching Notes are Bible studies we taught before GraceLife Ministries began publishing articles online in 1995. Some were presented as sermons, others as group studies.

Our hope is that these older studies will be a blessing to you in your life and ministry. Please use them in any way God leads you.

These teaching notes are from a sermon about revival.

[These notes are from a sermon series taught almost 45 years ago.]

One of the most quoted verses in America in this hour is 2 Chronicles 7:14 –

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

I want to share with you today the phenomenal principle of the ‘healing touch of God.’

We hear much today about God healing America, but very little about the healing of the individual. We hear much about revival in America, but very little about revival in the life of an individual. I want America to be healed and revived as much as anyone. In fact, I’ve given my life to a ministry for revival; but where does this healing and revival begin?

It begins with each individual and his or her responsibility to God. Every single person here today is responsible to God for their lives and how they use it. Healing begins when each individual child of God kneels before his or her Lord and yields all in broken humility. It begins when each individual child of God prays like they’ve never prayed before — prayers that come from the heart and life, not just the head. It begins when each individual child of God seeks the Lord, His Kingdom and righteousness with a whole-heart. It begins when each child of God turns from his or her sin to the purity that God initially intended for us.

If we stand before God emptied of self and sin and empowered with prayer and humility, God has promised throughout His Word to hear, forgive and heal.

How does God heal? Through His Grace!

(Preach on Grace)

What will God heal?

  1. He will heal our hearts! (cold hearts — broken hearts)
  2. He will heal our minds! (worry, fear, anxiety, depression)
  3. He will heal our bodies! (sickness caused by emotions and mental stress)
  4. He will heal our relationships with others! (husband, wife, children, parents, friends, people at work or school, neighbors, brothers and sisters in the family of God, and even enemies)

When God heals individual Christians, He often moves powerfully to heal communities and even nations.
